The land seal is lighter while the outer seal is darker

Up to 23 species of whales have been seen off the coast of Iceland and are divided into two sub tribes, Tan & ski whales.

80 nesting birds are around Iceland, 419 bird species have been seen in Iceland

It is believed that the arctic fox arrived at the end of the last ice age 10,000 years ago & was brought to Iceland with sea ice.

The Icelandic sheep were settled about 1123 years ago and came from Norway

The reindeer came from Norway & were transported in 1771-1787 in four groups and they number around 300 thousand
